I know there are winter storms going on in many parts of the country...but it's all sunshiny here in L.A. It's staying light out a little bit later, and the kids are really enjoying their after school outside play-time. Dylan is obsessed with handball. It's all the rage on the playground. And it's serious business too. The kids are really hardcore about their game. I'm always amazed when I pick Dylan up from school and his his fingers, hands, and arms are covered in black dirt- ingrained deep, deep in his pores. Recently, we bought a good old fashion "Super Bounce" ball for the house and it's changed our lives. I know that's dramatic...but it' been fun. We have our own family competitions in the drive-way up against the garage door. Dylan's been teaching us all about bullets, white elephants, rainbows, catchies, slices, around the worlds, and do-overs. It's all so nostalgically familiar. And, I can see why the kids don't want to stop playing. A healthy dose of competition, and wow, you can really work up a sweat too. It's been a great way to get the whole family out of the house and involved in a total group activity that's fun for all ages. Dylan's even taken out his Grandma and Uncle- no mercy! Even Katie, who's four, has her own ball now (it's blue, her favorite color), and she's developing a wicked fake out!
